BBQ Duck Breast with Cherry Balsamic Glaze

Crispy-skinned grilled duck breasts glazed in a rich cherry-balsamic reduction — a luxurious BBQ twist perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients:

  • 2 duck breasts (skin-on)
  • Salt & pepper

For the glaze:

  • ½ cup cherry preserves
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp fresh thyme (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Score duck skin in a criss-cross pattern. Season with salt & pepper.
  2. Place skin-side down on a cold grill pan or BBQ over medium heat. Cook 6–8 min until skin is crisp.
  3. Flip and cook 4–5 min or until medium-rare inside.
  4. Meanwhile, combine glaze ingredients in a pan and simmer until thick.
  5. Brush glaze over the duck and grill 1–2 min more.
  6. Rest 5 minutes, then slice and serve with extra glaze.
