There’s nothing more comforting than a bubbling tray of Baked Mac & Cheese. Creamy, cheesy, and topped with a golden crunchy crust — this dish is a timeless comfort meal that never fails to satisfy.
Ingredients:
- 250g elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 ½ cups grated cheddar
- ½ cup grated mozzarella
- ¼ teaspoon mustard powder (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for topping)
Instructions:
- Cook macaroni until just al dente. Drain.
- In a saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 min.
- Gradually add milk, whisking until thickened.
- Stir in cheeses, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
- Combine cheese sauce with pasta and pour into baking dish.
- Mix breadcrumbs with oil/butter and sprinkle on top.
- Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 20–25 mins until golden and bubbling
