Golden, crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside — these Baked Tofu Bites are a plant-based protein dream. Glazed with a sticky soy-ginger sauce, they’re bursting with flavour and perfect as a main, side, or snack.
Whether you’re meal-prepping, tossing them into a bowl, or serving with rice, they’re an easy way to enjoy tofu with texture.
Ingredients:
For tofu:
- 400g firm tofu
- 1 tablespoon cornflour
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Pinch of salt
For soy-ginger glaze:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornflour + 2 teaspoons water (slurry)
Instructions:
- Press tofu for 10–15 minutes. Cut into bite-sized cubes.
- Toss with cornflour, oil, and salt. Spread on lined tray and bake at 200°C for 25–30 min, flipping halfway.
- Meanwhile, heat glaze ingredients in a pan. Simmer and stir in slurry to thicken.
- Toss baked tofu in glaze. Serve immediately with sesame seeds and green onions.
