These Air Fryer Falafel Balls are crispy, flavorful, and completely oil-free. A healthy plant-based option that’s perfect for snacking, stuffing into pitas, or adding to grain bowls. No deep frying—just golden falafel with fresh herbs and spices, made effortlessly in your air fryer.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups dried chickpeas (soaked overnight, not cooked)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ cup fresh parsley
- ½ cup fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp flour (if needed for binding)
- Olive oil spray (optional)
Instructions:
- Add all ingredients to a food processor. Blend until well combined but slightly coarse—don’t overblend.
- Scoop and shape into small balls or patties.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Place falafel inside without overcrowding.
- Air fry at 190°C (375°F) for 12–14 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
