Ingredients:
For the apple filling:
- 5 medium apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith or Pink Lady work best)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon plain flour
For the crumble topping:
- ¾ cup plain flour
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 100g cold unsalted butter, cubed
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar, and cinnamon. Rub the cold butter into the mixture using your fingers until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the apple filling is bubbling.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
